چکیده
A 10-week feeding trial was carried out to evaluate strain-specific effects of Lactobacillus plantarum on blood profiles African catfish Clarias gariepinus fingerlings. diet formulated and divided into five portions (experimental diets). The first portion served as control (with no probiotic added it, labeled NP) while the second received 2.5g kg-1 multi-species commercial probiotics (CP). third, fourth fifth were experimental diets that contained 2×109cfu/g L. strains ascension numbers LC333558, LC333559 LC333560, LP58, LP59 LP60, respectively. Fifteen apparently healthy C fingerlings (4.86±0.59g) stocked in an tank 70 litres capacity, feed fed fish triplicate tanks. Similar rearing conditions maintained all results showed significant (p0.05) difference between supplementation some haematological parameters examined. Probiotics supplementations did not affect total differential leukocytes among different groups. Except for RBC counts, groups with LB59 LB60 had similar appeared have better values than LB58. Strains-specific effect planatrum also observed creatinine levels Hence, it can be concluded affected C. positively, dietary strain could employed improve

Toxicity of Copper (11) Tetraoxo Sulphate to African Catfish (Clarias Gariepinus) Fingerlings
This study was carried out to determine the toxicity of copper sulphate to African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus). The range – finding test was conducted twice in order to get reliable values that could be used for the definitive test. The toxicant (copper sulphate) was introduced at varying concentrations of 10g/l, 20g/l, 30g/l and 40g/l in the first rangefinding test, while it was introduced at...

Ameliorative potential of antioxidants –vitamins C and E on blood profile of Clarias gariepinus fed diets contaminated with varied levels of fumonisin B1 (FB1) was evaluated. Fusarium cultured maize containing FB1 were used to formulate diets containing approximately 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5 mg FB1/kg constituting diets 2, 3, and 4, respectively and other nine diets constituting Diets 5 - 13 with the ...
